When Jeanine and I contacted Carien last year for our engagement shoot we weren’t sure what to expect – neither of us is particularly fond of having our photos taken, and we’d never been involved in any professional photo shoots before.

Our engagement shoot was on a tea farm in the Cederberg, and we had quite an adventure driving up mountain roads, exploring rusty old sculptures, and climbing down through a small cave to a waterfall. The effort was worth it, though – the photos that were sent to us a few weeks later captured us amongst the farm’s rustic splendor beautifully.

The wedding was on our family wine farm near Vredendal, with the ceremony in front of a beautiful old Cape Dutch house and the reception under a Bedouin tent on the lawn next to it. Our friends and family helped us with the decorations and catering – we had cheeseboards, lawn games, hand-folded paper flowers, and more – and Carien and Toy did an outstanding job capturing not just the people, but also the setting.

Our experience with Love Of Light has been nothing less than exceptional. Both during our engagement shoot and at our wedding we saw that Carien has a talent for putting people at ease and capturing memories with amazing photos.
